Today (10th August, 2020) marks the 132nd birth anniversary of #Laininghal_Naoria_Phulo. The earliest Meetei revivalist, philosopher, thinker, poet who paved the way for the present day Meetei revivalist movement. He was born in #Cachar, Assam and dedicated his life to the upliftment of Meeteis. He rejected the imposed foreign script and developed a Meetei script in his best capacity. Laininghan Phulo was summoned to the court of Maharaj #Churachand because of his revivalist mission. But Maharaj Churachand was left spellbound by his profound courage, oratorical, philosophy and literary competance.
Laihinghal Phulo lamented "the slave mentality of the Meeteis" and worked till his last breath in spreading the wisdom of a free mind. Today on his birth anniversary, we present to you one of his peoms.
