MONSHAOBI

MONSHAOBI:
Botanical name: Chenopodium album Linn.
Parts used: Whole plant.
@ MEDICAL INFORMATION:
* dysease Name: Dyspepsia (chaba tumdaba); Leucoderma ( angouba pakpa).
* Uses: Plant is:
-carminative(puk nungsit kaba hanthahanba hidak):
-laxative(khong hamba yadaba hidak);
-anthelmintic(thibong thirilda leiba til hatnaba hidak);
-diuretic(yung henna hannaba hidak); and
-tonic(hakchang hengatnaba natraga tekkhatnaba oina).
¤ used in peptic ulcer; dyspepsia; seminal weakness and liver enlarged; served as blood purifier.
(N.B: rich in Iron, stimulant to spleen disorders..
But; this plant grows in the areas where NO3 conc. is high. Leaves tend to accumulate NO3 bcoz uptake exceeds reduction (NO3----NH3---NH2---amino acids/amino sugars) and assimilation. Frequent consumption will hamper ur renal function. So dietary nitrate might react with dietary amines to form carcinogenic nitrosamines. Methemoglobinemia and cyanosis in infants. )
